Animal Photo of the Week: Reese

 

Reese’s snow white plumage and stunning baby blue eyes have turned plenty of heads since he showed up as a poult at Farm Sanctuary last year.  Arriving at our door with 10 other baby turkeys, he was likely rescued from a factory farm – a dark, crowded and terrifying place where only a miserable future would have awaited him. I was fortunate enough to be able to meet Reese in person last Saturday. He is such a sweet little being. As I am a Farm Sanctuary member, it was especially gratifying to see all the farm animals that have been saved. It also brought home to me the fact that there are so many more out there that need saving. Only through changes in animal rights laws and educating the public, will animals finally have the protection they deserve. Hooray for Farm Sanctuary and those who support it.
