In 2009, “Wayward Wendy” became a minor celebrity in Sacramento, California. When she mysteriously appeared in a local family’s backyard, two compassionate children took it upon themselves to search for her original guardians. But after two weeks and plenty of television coverage, including a brief spot on “Good Day Sacramento,” no one had claimed sweet Wendy, so the family who found her reached out to us for help. Shortly thereafter, our California Shelter took her in. Perhaps as a result of her 15 minutes of fame, this extraordinarily friendly and outgoing hen still loves the limelight and being at the center of everyone’s attention.
