You might remember Whitaker’s soft brown eyes. When he came to our California Shelter in 2008, he was in bad shape – starved, dehydrated and unable to stand on his own. We’re proud to say Whitaker has made a full recovery and grown into a handsome, healthy steer. This beautiful boy is a perfect reminder of why we do what we do. At Farm Sanctuary, hundreds of animals are given the chance to live out their natural lives in peace. With each passing year, we are fortunate to watch them grow and thrive, safe from harm. In the U. S. alone, millions of farm animals are forced to endure brief lives marked by cruelty and abuse. It doesn’t have to be this way. As we work toward a more compassionate world, rescued animals like Whitaker give us an idea of what could be.
A face of beauty and love in the hills of compassion.
