Last month, we asked you what kind of animal activism you plan on incorporating into your lives in 2010. Thank you to everyone who took part in this contest! We selected a random winner through a drawing, and the lucky person is Holly Dowling from Angwin, CA. Congratulations, Holly, you have won yourself a Farm Sanctuary hoodie! Holly’s 2010 New Year’s resolution for the animals is admirable: to spend 2010 encouraging “my family and friends to eat less – or no! – meat, to share good vegetarian recipes, and to step up my volunteering for farm animals.”
The responses we received were inspiring and creative. Here are a few of our faves: Vivian Grant of Louisville, KY resolved to “get every single meat eating person I know, friend or foe, to go meatless one day a week in 2010.” Kathryn Caldwell of Rochester, NY will “continue to inform everyone that veganism is the only way to save the world.” Jordan Faulds of San Francisco said, “This year, I resolve to donate 2% of all the money I earn to animal charities.” And Sue Castle of Burlinghame, CA remarked, “All my short sleeve shirts I buy in 2010 will have an animal rights message.”
As the year progresses, please keep us posted on your activist happenings. You can also sign up for the RSS feed for our action alerts, blogs and other pertinent reading.
