In a time of economic hardship, people are flocking to their libraries. A library is not only a perfect place to find entertainment on a budget (i.e., free), but also a wonderful resource for helping you learn about the various issues facing your community. At most libraries, you’ll find a section devoted to free literature, including fliers and brochures. Why not jump on that bandwagon and leave some lit of your own? Library outreach is an easy, effective form of reaching many people who, by frequenting the library, show they are open-minded and yearning to learn!

(When you’re done, be sure to visit the DVD section. It was in that section of my library that I spotted Year of the Dog, a film of veganic proportions, and a must-see.)

Great tips on the library page, Jasmin! Even in good times, we should all support our local libraries. Not only is it easy on the wallet, it's eco-friendly since it's communal sharing.
I recommended Gene Baur's must-read, "Farm Sanctuary: Changing Hearts and Minds About Animals and Food" as the book of the day to my county library system, and it was featured on their web site (which spans 74 libraries!)
Instead of buying a subscription to VegNews magazine for your home address, why not share the veg knowledge and order one for your local library?
